Welcome, to Future Leaders Developmental Program, (FLDP).
My name is Mae Long, Program Administrator for FLDP

I bring to FLDP, a Bachelor Degree in Physical Education from North Carolina Central University, and Master’s Degree from Strayer University in Health Service Administration Concentration Public Health Management. I am a Licensed Insurance Agent in Life, Auto, Commercial pursuing other license, Certified Peer Support Specialist, and a Licensed CLD Driver. This program is designed for youth ages six (6) to twenty-one (21). FLDP is a Non-Profit 501©(3),under 170(b)(1)(A)(vi) public charity status tax exemption. Section 501(c)(3) governs tax exemption of organizations, while section 170 governs deductibility of contributions by individuals. Being allow a status such as this all youth of all zip codes can be services.

FLDP, believes that the more information provided for the community to learn, will allow the community to gain more knowledge to better its own community. We are striving to make the youth in low-income areas aware of their ability, allow them to learn and to get out of their own way and grow to be strong within their own communities. One of FLDP’s goal is to display and encourage our youth, that no matter their surroundings, family make up, zip code, or where you live you can make a difference. The program hopes that children will see themselves as future doctors, lawyers, farmers, music and dance entertainers, office officers, health personals, business owners, engineers, technology employees, and etc. I resigned my position as a 6th through 8th grade teacher because the need for interventions is also needed in this area, I believe someone has to take the first step. Yes, there are agencies that give youth opportunities to run track during the summer or take swimming lessons, but once the summer ends that support ends for the you until the next summer comes. There is little or no follow up for the youth.

The first goal is to seek donations and gifts from companies and individuals such as yourself. Research has shown that children want to participate in activities and programs. However, parents are unable to afford registration fees required to be in the program. FLDP, believes if there were resources to pay for youth outreach programs, we can reach more youth with hopes and dreams to help pushing them to the next level in life.
